Applications for Student Regent for the 2017-2018 (2-yr.) term are now being accepted at the ASUNM and GPSA Offices. The application deadline is 5:00 PM, October 7, 2016.
The UNM Board of Regents is composed of seven members who are appointed by the Governor of New Mexico with the consent of the Senate, for staggered terms of six years except for the student regent who is appointed for a two-year term.
The Board’s power to govern the University includes fiduciary responsibility for the assets and programs of the University, establishment of goals and policies to guide the University and oversight of the functioning of the University. The Board vests responsibility for the operation and management of the University in the President of the University.
